My work can also be impressed by my travels, capturing my experiences of a spot or a journey; I’ve painted quite a few collection primarily based on journeys to the USA and Japan.”
Starting in Miami, and touring by way of the southern United States earlier than ending in Palm Desert, California, “Avenue View Highway Journey” explores quite a lot of American landscapes by way of the lens of Google Avenue View. She elaborates: “The streets are empty, a parked automobile sits outdoors a motel, a single automobile follows within the distance. The work seize the long-lasting American tropes—the automobiles, the motels, the broad roads, but the scenes don’t really feel idealized or bombastic. They’re merely single moments captured in a (digital) journey.”
