On March 24, poet Fred Moten and musicians Brandon and Cecilia Lopez will accompany Jones on an experimental program interweaving visible and sonic arts.
On Thursday, March 24 at 6:30pm (EDT), the Guggenheim Museum presents The Pink Sheaves: An Night with Jennie C. Jones, Fred Moten, Brandon Lopez, and Cecilia Lopez.
Be a part of artist Jennie C. Jones and poet Fred Moten for a particular night of dialogue, prose, and music. Following a brief dialog with the artist, Moten will present a studying of “The Pink Sheaves,” an experimental poetic textual content written in response to Jones’s work, carried out alongside new songs created in collaboration with musicians Brandon Lopez and Cecilia Lopez.
This program, introduced together with Jennie C. Jones: Dynamics, contains a newly revised model of “The Pink Sheaves” and interweaves the visible and sonic arts. “The Pink Sheaves” was first revealed in Fixed Construction, an artist ebook produced in collaboration between Jones and Moten on the event of the exhibition Jennie C. Jones: Fixed Construction on the Arts Membership of Chicago in 2020.
This occasion will happen within the Peter B. Lewis Theater on the decrease stage of the museum.
