Artist Kiva Ford (beforehand) spends his days shaping minuscule vessels for chemists, engineers, and physicists. He manages the customized scientific glass store on the College of Notre Dame, the place he’s tasked with creating distinctive devices designed for particular analysis initiatives. The exacting high quality of those items is mirrored in all of his hand-blown works, which vary from Klein bottles and flasks to vases, pitchers, and jars holding anatomical sculptures in miniature.
COVID-19 elevated the demand for his wares, Ford tells Colossal, and he at present has various colourful items obtainable on Etsy. On March 19, he’ll be internet hosting an illustration of nesting a small vessel inside a bigger, similar work on the Worldwide Flameworking Convention in New Jersey. You can too discover movies and pictures documenting his course of on Instagram.
