Influenced by what he describes as a “wholesome degree of cynicism,” Melbourne-based artist Nash Weerasekera faucets into the refined ironies of on a regular basis life. His digital illustrations usually middle on seemingly paradoxical circumstances like a determine meditating on prime of an overturned automobile or a younger lady in a showering swimsuit seated on an ice floe. Largely targeted on the character of labor, social interactions, and home obligations, his humorous scenes visualize infinite to-do lists, operating out of time, or a satirical tackle a favourite phrase of optimists in all places: each cloud has a silver lining.

Weerasekera shares that he “thinks” higher on paper, so each piece begins with a bodily sketch.
