Jeff Rosenstock Postpones September Tour Dates

After confirming that he and at least one other member of his crew have tested positive for COVID-19, Jeff Rosenstock has announced that he will have to postpone the remainder of the first leg of his ongoing tour.

Rosenstock — who shared his latest album, HELLMODE, last month — is currently on the road for a large tour which stretches through the end of December. While the shows on November 25th and later are unaffected for now, the remainder of his dates in September have been postponed. This means that fans in cities like St. Louis, Chicago, and Detroit will have to wait until they can catch Rosenstock, and openers Sidney Gish and Gladie, live.

Rosenstock broke the news in an Instagram post, noting that the dates will hopefully be rescheduled for “March/April next year,” and the new leg might even include some additional stops. Continuing, he offered a health update and shared some insight on why they decided to postpone. “I’ll be fine eventually, but I’m quite sick at the moment,” he wrote. “I’ve never canceled a show because I was sick in my life — but by the time Mike [Huguenor, guitarist] and I are safe to scream in yr face, it seems incredibly likely more of us will have COVID, considering that we spend every waking hour with each other. We’ve been down this road before and we know where it goes. And it sucks!!” Check out Rosenstock’s full statement below.

Last month, Rosenstock opened a public conversation about the economic reality of being a musician after he exposed the merch cuts that various venues take, some reaching a mind-boggling ratio of 20% or more.
