Jon Hamm Used “Nippleologist” for Fake Pierced Nipples on Fargo

Jon Hamm’s character in Fargo Season 5 has clearly visible nipple rings in the official trailer, but as it turns out, he didn’t go full method. Instead, he went as far as getting prosthetic pierced nipples made for the role.
As reported by Variety, Hamm exposed the process during a screening for the Season 5 premiere. “I had to have some very blue latex put on my nipples, and then they cast a resoundingly lifelike pair of nipples, which they then pierced and placed over my own nipples, and we shot said nipples,” he said on stage. “The crew doesn’t get enough credit, but there was a dedicated nippleologist.”
Hamm’s admission was news to his co-star Juno Temple, who expressed shock at his use of a “full, fake nipple” for each piercing.
In the upcoming fifth installment of Fargo, Hamm plays North Dakota Sheriff Roy Tillman, who finally tracks down Temple’s character of Dorothy “Dot” Lyon after a lengthy search. A rancher, preacher, and a constitutional lawman, Tillman believes he is above the law.
As for the nipple piercings, Fargo showrunner/writer/director Noah Hawley joked during the panel that “we all live in Tiger King America,” referencing the popular Netflix true crime docuseries.
Besides Temple and Hamm, the Fargo Season 5 cast includes Jennifer Jason Leigh, David Rysdahl, Joe Keery, Sam Spruell, Richa Moorjani, Lamorne Morris, and Dave Foley.
