Sebastian Ferruzo – BOOOOOOOM! – CREATE * INSPIRE * COMMUNITY * ART * DESIGN * MUSIC * FILM * PHOTO * PROJECTS
A number of pictures from photographer Sebastian Ferruzo’s ongoing venture “YHWH, and the Birds of Urge for food.” The title of the sequence is a reference to a Thomas Merton essay about learn how to perceive and obtain Zen. A “chook of urge for food” is a chook of prey who lives in a shortage mindset, all the time on the hunt for the subsequent factor to kill. Very like the broadly accepted Western capitalist mindset that teaches us to all the time be hungry for extra and by no means glad with what we now have, Merton argues that Zen can’t be understood on this state since Zen isn’t about gaining or reaching something. With this in thoughts, Ferruzo’s strategy to pictures is a type of observe in letting go. As he explains:
“The entire pictures on this sequence are moments that I stumbled on by pure probability. As I’m going out and have interaction with the world, potential pictures appear to current themselves to me. Every of those moments serves as a reminder that the extra I disengage from my thoughts, the richer my life turns into.”
