Taken throughout six continents, the entries to the 2021 World Nature Pictures Awards seize the hungry, curious, and ingenious animals across the globe. This 12 months’s winners embody an arctic fox braving an Icelandic snowstorm, a trio of crimson ants forming a bridge to let one another go between rocks, and a serendipitous shot of a leopard seal getting ready to snack on a gentoo penguin, which garnered the highest prize. Centering on each the most important and the usually imperceptible creatures inhabiting the planet, the images are numerous and an instance of the surprise and awe that exists at each degree of the animal kingdom.
