Spotify Suspends Service In Russia Due To Worker & Listener Security Considerations

Spotify is suspending their service in Russia because the Russian authorities continues their assault on Ukraine. In response to a spokesperson for Spotify in a remark to Rolling Stone, the suspension of service is because of fears for worker and listener security as new Russian laws passes proscribing entry to data.
“Spotify has continued to imagine that it is critically necessary to try to maintain our service operational in Russia to offer trusted, unbiased information and knowledge within the area. Sadly, not too long ago enacted laws additional proscribing entry to data, eliminating free expression, and criminalizing sure sorts of information places the security of Spotify‘s staff and presumably even our listeners in danger.
“After fastidiously contemplating our choices and the present circumstances, we now have come to the tough resolution to totally droop our service in Russia.”
Spotify expects to be totally suspended in Russia by early April.
