“The Ready” by Photographer Camille Farrah Lenain

A placing collection by French-Algerian photographer Camille Farrah Lenain. Lenain was raised in Paris and relocated to New Orleans in 2013. Presently working between France and Louisiana, their long-term tasks give attention to empathetic portraiture and exploring the notions of illustration, collective reminiscence, and plural identities. “The Ready” is an ongoing collection that follows the pursuits of feminine hunters together with their relationships to the land, to their harvest, and to one another:
“The ladies take us on a meditative journey from stillness to the irreversible act of killing. Such because the goddesses of the hunt, they embrace the stress between protector and destroyer, fertility and the moon. Exploring the paranormal trails between historical myths and the twenty first century, the searching sisterhood rejects conventional roles and embodies the predator in a society that usually views them as prey.”
