Inquisitive about expressions, shapes, colours, gentle, and imperfection, Wroclaw, Poland-based photographer Tofjan’s work focuses on capturing the vitality and id of the individuals and the locations he encounters. In his current photobook, “Tope,” Tofjan explores the streets of Mexico along with his digital camera, transferring slowly and capturing the spirit of his environment in vibrant, colourful snapshots.
A quick driver and former racer, Tofjan understands how simple it’s to get caught up within the quick tempo of day by day life, lacking the main points alongside the way in which. “However Mexico doesn’t let you try this,” he explains. “Its roads, its site visitors, its pace bumps all appear to be there to remind you that you’re on their time, not yours” — “That is what ‘Tope’ stands for: a possibility to decelerate and keep vigilant, not solely of the random obstacles looming each stretch of the highway, but in addition of the seemingly unusual occasions that unfold alongside the way in which. As soon as you might be there, all of that chaos and people clashing parts come collectively in concord below the hanging Mexican golden daylight.”
